Sharon Parella concentrates her practice on representing employers, including domestic and foreign financial institutions and their boards of directors, in all aspects of employment law. Her practice includes defending employers against discrimination, compensation and other employment claims before state and federal courts, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, fair employment practices agencies, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and other regulatory agencies, and in arbitrations and mediations.
In addition, Sharon regularly advises on significant restructurings and downsizings, discrimination, sexual harassment and workplace bullying claims and investigations, employment issues related to mergers and acquisitions, and employee misconduct, and provides training on these topics. She also drafts and negotiates employment and separation agreements, retention and consulting agreements, and employee handbooks and policies, and provides guidance on issues related to U.S. employees working abroad and on the application of U.S. employment laws to expatriate employees working in the United States. She is a frequent lecturer and author on topics including investigating sexual harassment, discrimination and workplace bullying claims, and on innovative workplace practices.
Sharon also represents individuals in various employment matters.
Sharon is the founder of Workplace Bullying Resources Inc. (www.bullyresources.com), which provides training for employees of all levels on workplace bullying, and consults with employers on methods for eradicating bullying in their workplaces.
